New Feature - Xero.com Integration
Xero.com is an online accounting software system. Xero has the ability to automatically import transactions from your bank.
RentHQ now has the ability to extract transactions out of Xero. This means any bank statement transactions created in Xero, can be imported directly into RentHQ.
How it is done...
- Open up the existing Bank Statement Import function in RentHQ.
- Instead of importing a file, you can choose to import from Xero.
- Next you will need to give authorisation for RentHQ to access your Xero transactions. This is done by entering your Xero Login and Password into the Xero web site, and getting an authorisation code which you then enter into RentHQ. This gives RentHQ 30 minutes of access before your authorisation runs out. This is more than enough time to import the transactions.
- Next you will need to select which Xero bank account you want to import the transactions from. If you have more than 1, you will need to do them separately.
- After that, the import process is exactly the same as if you had imported a bank statement file. You get to use import rules etc as well.
Issue Fix - Automatic Transactions
An issue has been identified and resolved. This happens when you have generated automatic transactions. The arrears balance of tenants may have changed as a result of generating those transactions. However the arrears screen was still showing the same values. In order for the new values to be shown, you had to close and re-open RentHQ. The balance was always correctly applied behind the scenes, it was just not visible on the arrears screen.
New Feature - Mail merge text alignment
The mail merge facility has been extended with the addition of buttons to allow text to be left, right, centred or fully justified.
A lot of people have tried to do centre alignment by adding spaces at the start of the line. You wont need to do that any more. Just press the Centre button.
When printing to email, the same alignment is also applied.
New Feature - Custom fields in mail merge
The mail merge facility has been extended by adding the ability to insert tenant custom fields into tenant based letters.
This means you can create a field on the tenant screen, populate it with information, and have it printed on the generated letters.
New Feature - Split Import Transactions
With RentHQ you can import a bank statement file in either QIF or OFX file format. This is a quick way of getting transactions from your bank into RentHQ with less chance of errors.
A new feature has been added to the import which enables you to split one transaction on your bank statement into 2 or more transactions in RentHQ.
This is useful for situations where a tenant pays rent and some sort of extra charges as a single value, but you need to split those values out again when entering the transactions into RentHQ. The split process will make sure that the sum total of the split transactions add up to the original bank statement transaction value.
